September is National Neighborhood Month
Great neighborhoods are the foundation of a successful city. In Boise, each neighborhood contributes to the fabric of our community and deserves to be celebrated.
Kid's Art Contest
What do you love about your neighborhood?
Draw a picture of something you love about your neighborhood. Is it your local park? Your school? Your friendly neighbors? We want to know what makes your neighborhood special!
Submit your artwork at any Boise Public Library branch by Sept. 23 and be sure to fill out a raffle ticket! We'll choose three winners the week of September 24. Prize packages will include family packs to Idaho IceWorld, Zoo Boise and an Energize Our Neighborhoods Gift Basket. Winners will also be invited to the Good Neighbor Awards to receive their prize.
Artwork will be displayed in Boise City Hall at the Energize Boise Celebration on September 28 and used on the city's social media channels.

- Submit your artwork by September 23
- Drop off your submission at any Boise Public Library! location or mail to Community Engagement, Boise City Hall, PO Box 500, Boise, Idaho 83701-0500.
Social Media Neighborhood Challenges
September is National Neighborhood Month! The Energize Our Neighborhoods team put together some fun challenges to encourage community members to get out and meet their neighbors. Participate in one, or all, and remember to share your photos by hashtagging #ENERGIZEBOISE.
- Sept. 1 - 23 | Kid's Art Contest
Draw a picture of something you love about your neighborhood.
- Sept. 9-15 | Healthy Communities
Get outside for an evening walk, jog or bike ride with your neighbors.
- Sept. 16 - 22 | PARK(ing) Day
Participate in National PARK(ing) Day on Sept. 21. Plan and coordinate with neighbors to turn a parking space into a temporary 'parklet.'
- Sept. 23 - 30 | Community Involvement
Do a good deed for your neighbors - bake some cookies, pull in a neighbor's trash can, help with yard work. Get creative and share your actions by taking a photo and tagging #ENERGIZEBOISE
